Tanner Hudson... This is definitely a little ballsy.. He has not played much this season, as he is the clear #3 TE. With the injuries to the Bengals, I believe he is a clear benefactor. He is an ex-QB who is extremely smart. He knows where to go on the field against zone coverage. Many times against zone, it is being smart enough to not complete a route, and sit in the soft spot of the zone. He did this consistently at the end of last season. In all 6-games he played last year with Burrow, he had at least 18 yards, and went for 33, 45 & 49 in 3 of them. He continued his success with Jake Browning once Burrow got hurt.
With Erick All (backup TE who played about 50% of the snaps) and Tee Higgins (14 targets last game vs the Ravens), the Bengals will have to find some options. Andre Iosivas is dead last IN THE ENTIRE NFL in yards per route vs zone coverage. With the Ravens running zone nearly 70% of the time, this is a perfect spot for Hudson to catch 4 passes for 40 yards.
