Diamondbacks have been extremely consistent lately. This team has developed into a real competitor this year. They also have some solid trends right now that we are going to follow. 10-5 their last 15, 7-1 their last 8 on the road, and 8-2 their last 10 against Wasgington. The Nationals are on the opposite side of this trend. 1-6 their last 7, and 1-9 their last 10 at home. As much as neither of these starting pitchers create a sense of confidence in their ability, the trends are locked in and speak for themselves. Irvin has been on the downhill this year and with Arizona averaging 7 runs a game, he is in for a long few innings.
