Dewayne Dedmond over 3.5 points
Sounds crazy, but whatever... Gotta be a little crazy in this business. When we say to join the Sharp Side... This is what we mean. Why Dewayne Dedmond? In the early parts of NBA Playoff series, coaches feel out the opponent. Stars minutes increase every game. By games 5 & 6, Dedmond may not even see the court. Spoelstra knows this is a long series and keeping Bam Adebayo & Jimmy Butler fresh will be a major key. We see it in almost every series, where role players get a few extra minutes in the 1st couple of games.
This number is off. It is taking into account the ends of series where Dedmond hardly sees the court. I expect about 12-15 minutes from Dedmond tonight. He is a capable mid-range shooter and finisher around the rim. He is alos solid from the line. We are not asking much from him today, but against the smaller lineup of the Celtics, he could easily hit this number. I have his total at 6 points. While that does not seem like a ton of wiggle-room, it is nearly double that of Vegas' projection, so we ride!
