🔥 BIG-TIME EDGE TONIGHT IN SEATTLE! 🔥 White Sox vs Mariners
We’re diving deep into the diamond for this one, and there’s no doubt who’s holding the upper hand. Seattle’s ace Logan Gilbert toes the rubber against rookie Shane Smith, and we’re seeing all the signs pointing to the M’s dominating at home.
Let’s break it down:
Gilbert’s been a monster lately 5-1 with a filthy 1.78 ERA over his last 7 starts. The man is locked in. He’s holding hitters to a .185 AVG over that span and has gone at least 6 innings in each of those outings.
Compare that to Shane Smith, who’s getting tossed into the fire here. Making just his second career MLB start, the nerves will be high, and the margin for error is razor-thin. He struggled in his debut, giving up 4 earned runs in just 4 innings, and now he’s got to deal with a Mariners lineup that’s been heating up big time.
Seattle has scored 5+ runs in 4 of their last 6, and the top of that order is doing serious damage. J.P. Crawford, Julio Rodríguez, and Cal Raleigh are all seeing the ball well, and against a rookie? They are going to make him work for his position. Don’t forget this is a lineup that has dominated at home.
Meanwhile, the White Sox are a mess. Just 2-8 in their last 10 and dead last in runs scored this season. They’ve been getting shut down left and right, and now they run into one of the best right-handed arms in the AL? This feels like a mismatch.
Key Trends:
White Sox are 1-6 in their last 7 road games.
Mariners are 6-1 in Gilbert’s last 7 starts.
Chicago ranks 30th in team batting average, 29th in OPS, and 30th in OBP.
I do not look too heavy into OBP, and OPS but its a record stat for a reason.
This one’s got Seattle -1.5 written all over it. We’re trusting the vet, trusting the momentum, and fading a White Sox team that just can’t get right. Expect Gilbert to shove and the M’s to light up the rookie.
My pick: Mariners -1.5
