BYU has every edge coming into this matchup against West Virginia, and the stats back up laying the big number. The Cougars are 4-0, averaging nearly 436 yards per game while committing just one turnover all season, with freshman QB Bear Bachmeier yet to throw a pick. Their defense is stout against the run and opportunistic, which spells trouble for a Mountaineers offense already struggling after being held to just 85 passing yards in a blowout loss to Utah. On top of that, WVU is banged up at quarterback, with Nicco Marchiol sidelined, leaving them with backups against a Top-25 BYU squad. With BYU’s balance on offense and ability to capitalize on short fields, this game sets up for a decisive cover at home against a West Virginia team that simply hasn’t shown they can keep pace.
