Tonight we’re backing the Colorado Rockies on the Moneyline against the Washington Nationals. Colorado enters this matchup on a seven-game losing streak after getting hammered 13-3 by Washington last night, and that ugly recent form is exactly why we’re getting an underdog price. Washington hasn’t exactly been playing great baseball either, and before last night’s win, the Nationals had dropped four straight.

Washington is expected to send Andrew Alvarez to the mound, who enters at 2-5 with a 3.60 ERA and 74 strikeouts. Colorado’s starter was still listed as TBD by MLB earlier today, so I’m not going to manufacture a pitching matchup that isn’t confirmed. What I do like is the market angle: one betting-splits report showed Colorado attracting 59% of the Moneyline handle on only 7% of the tickets, a massive difference between the number of bets and the amount of money being wagered.

After getting embarrassed last night, I’m looking for Colorado to respond and finally snap this losing streak. This isn’t a play where we need the Rockies to dominate—we simply need them to win the game. At an underdog price, I’m willing to take my shot on the bounce-back.
