!Hammer Time, Ghost Picks Nation!

NFL Preseason: Eagles vs. Jets

Game Overview:

Date & Time: Friday, August 22, 2025, 7:30 PM ET

Venue: MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ

Current Line: Jets -1.5

Why Are We Hammering the Eagles Moneyline (+100) ?

Quarterback Depth & Momentum:

Eagles: Kyle McCord has been the story of the preseason. In Week 1, he carved up the defense, going 20/25 for 252 yards and 2 TDs. That’s elite efficiency for a preseason QB, and he’s battling for his long-term spot, meaning the motivation is through the roof. Behind him, Dorian Thompson-Robinson adds mobility and playmaking that fits perfectly in a game where defensive rotations leave wide gaps.

Jets: The QB room is a carousel. Justin Fields and Tyrod Taylor won’t get much burn, and the depth behind them (Adrian Martinez, Brady Cook) has been inconsistent at best. That lack of stability is a huge concern when you’re laying chalk.

With stars like A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith resting, the Eagles’ young WR corps (John Metchie III, Darius Cooper, Ainias Smith) is battling for roster spots. Hungry players + talented QB depth = points and sustained drives.

Eagles defense: Rookies like Sydney Brown and CB Jakorian Bennett are fighting for starting/roster roles. That energy translates to tighter coverage and impact plays even against backup QBs.

Jets defense: With rotations and second/third units seeing the field most of the night, they’ve shown cracks. In last week’s game, they allowed sustained drives against lesser QBs, and now they face one of the hottest backups in McCord.

The Eagles’ roster depth is simply stronger than the Jets. Preseason is about motivation and depth, not stars. Philly’s roster bubble guys are outperforming expectations, while the Jets are still searching for answers in their QB room.

The Pick: Eagles Moneyline (+100)
