Cowboys vs Eagles


Analysis

The addition of George Pickens opens up the field Lamb. Pickens is a down-field route runner who I expect to have a great season. Underneath... That is all CD. Against the pass rush of the Eagles, Dak is going to have to get the ball out quick. CD is the primary benefactor there. Though the biggest benefactor to CD is the lack of run game. Until they unleash Jay Blue in the run game, the Cowboys backfield is dead. Miles Sanders and Javonte Williams are arguably THE TWO WORST running backs in the NFL. The short passing game should operate as the running game for the Cowboys.


AJ Brown was the best WR in the entire NFL last season against man coverage. Unstoppable. With Matt Eberflus being named the DC for the Cowboys, expect a heavy dosage of zone coverage. Eberflus may be the worst head coach in America, but he is a solid DC. He primarily runs zone and that is where DeVonta Smith thrives, going from outside the top-50 vs Man, to inside the top-15 vs zone.
